2018 Global Healthy Workplace Awards Finalists Selected

6th Global Healthy Workpalce Awards & Summit 2018 Bergamo

Finalists will present their healthy workplace programmes at the 6th Global Healthy Workplace Awards & Summit on 6-7 September 2018 in Italy.

The six finalists for the 6th Global Healthy Workplace Awards and Summit have been selected. The 2018 Awards Finalists are:

SME Category
AB May (USA)

VitaS (Belgium)

Large Category
Hospital Alemão Oswaldo Cruz (Brazil)
National Environment Agency (Singapore)

Multinational Category
Lendlease (Australia)
Flight Centre Travel Group (Australia)

The finalists will present their programme at the Bergamo summit for the chance to win recognition as the company with the best workplace health programme across the globe (one in each category will be declared winner).

The Global Healthy Workplace Awards enable employers to benchmark their programs to the global standard and celebrate their outstanding achievement in promoting a safe and healthy work environment complementary to the business performance of the organisation. The Awards enable winners to distinguish themselves as an employer-of-choice when attracting new talent or in retaining existing employees. The quality of applications was exceptionally high with this year being the most arguably the most competitive with the judges having considerable difficulty in selecting the final six.

The Global Healthy Workplace Awards Summit brings together leaders in global health and well-being. It is organised by the Global Centre for Healthy Workplaces which is co-owned by Wolf Kirsten International Health Consulting and i-genius. The Awards launched in April 2013 with its first global Awards Summit taking place in London, 2013 followed by Shanghai, 2014, Florianopolis, 2015, Washington, DC, 2016, and Singapore, 2017.

The 6th Global Healthy Workplace Awards Summit is hosted in partnership with the Health Protection Agency of Bergamo. Bergamo is a wonderful historic city and a UNESCO World Heritage site, approximately 40 km from Milan. Bringing together leaders in global health and well-being for the advancement of workplace health, the 6th Global Summit promises to be an exciting event.

The Summit will follow a half day Global Alliance Roundtable (invitation only) on 6th September, which is co-hosted by the GCHW and FIESC/SESI.

Global Healthy Workplace Certification Supports Cesvi NGO Myanmar Project

NGO Myanmar Project Cesvi GCHW

The Global Centre for Healthy Workplaces (GCHW) will give 50% of certification fees to NGO Myanmar project CESVI from Italian companies upon being successfully recognised as a certified employer.

The goal of Cesvi’s intervention in Myanmar in the health sector is to reduce mortality, suffering and problems related to the health of the communities, guaranteeing everyone the widest possible access to basic services. Cesvi (cooperazione e sviluppo/cooperation and development) is one of the biggest humanitarian organizations in Italy. Founded in 1985 and has about 30 offices all over the world.

The Certification Program is designed for organisations implementing programs that excel in the creation of healthy workplaces. Both the award and certification allow employers to compare and benchmark their programs to the global standard and, if successful, to celebrate their achievement and to distinguish themselves as an employer-of-choice when seeking to attract new talent or retain existing employees. With an emphasis on both universal relevance and adaptability to local conditions, the Program demonstrates an employer‘s focus on promoting a safe and healthy work environment and the health of its employees.

The Global Healthy Workplace Certification is granted to organisations whose programmes excel in the provision of workplace health and wellbeing.
