Awards, Washington, DC, USA, 7th June 2016
The American University in Washington, DC, with the support of its Department of Health Studies hosted the 4th Global Healthy Workplace Awards & Summit 2016 (#GHWAwards), as the search continued for the programs making the biggest impact on the health and well-being of the world’s workforce. Building on the huge success of our previous Awards and Summits held in Florianopolis 2015, Shanghai 2014 and London 2013, we invited a host of professionals to attend the 4th Global Healthy Workplace Awards and Summit which took place at the American University in Washington, DC, on 7th June 2016.
The #GHWAwards is the only global Awards program and Summit dedicated solely to the recognition of practices and programs in the global workplace and brings together leaders in global health and well-being from around the world. Workplace health program application finalists presented their workplace health programmes were reviewed by an international panel of judges representing five continents with expertise in health promotion, health policy, occupational health and associated disciplines.
The winners were:
Vitality Group, USA – small and medium-sized enterprises
Monash University, Australia – large enterprises
Unilever, UK/Netherlands – multinational enterprises
The runners up were:
Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board, USA – small and medium-sized enterprises
Hospital Alemão Oswaldo Cruz, Brazil – large enterprises
Johnson & Johnson, Brazil – large enterprises
United Technologies Aerospace Systems, USA – multinational enterprises
The #GHWAwards is a comprehensive program to celebrate, learn from and promote healthy workplaces globally. The Summit highlights:

+ Emerging better practices and innovations
+ Opportunities to replicate around the world
