What does it mean to you to be a Global Healthy Workplace Awards winner?
It is with great honor and joy that we receive this award. It is a great responsibility to live up to this recognition, which reinforces our commitment to take care of the energy and heart of those who work every day to drive a better tomorrow for everyone.
What do you think are the strengths of your program?
The fact that we have a multidisciplinary team working together under a single purpose, allowing us to break silos to work as one. We don’t overlook any dimension of our employees well-being, knowing that each of them is important. We think globally, focusing on a one-company experience that respects specific needs and cultural context.
Where do you see the main challenges of creating a healthy workplace coming out of a global pandemic?
The enormous scale of the global pandemic has a natural lasting impact. We are not only coming out of a pandemic but having to deal with the consequences of Inflation and War. These are complex challenges, with considerable uncertainty, affecting our employees on all their dimensions of well-being. Therefore, we will continue to work to provide a continuously more flexible and supportive workplace so that they are equipped with the right tools to face life’s ups and downs.
What advice would you give to a multinational employer thinking of developing or advancing a global strategy?
Listen to your employees first and foremost and act on their feedback. Unveil the clear link between employee engagement, well-being, and happiness with greater business outcomes. Breakdown silos that might exist between global and local policies, HR and OHS teams, leadership and general workforce, among others. Only by working together as one, towards the same purpose, are we able to advance.
What did you take away from the 2022 Global Healthy Workplace Summit?
It is very reassuring to see that a mindset shift is happening across the globe, with concrete actions. These big and small companies walk the talk when speaking about employees’ health and well-being, remembering that having a people-first culture is not only the right thing to do but the best business strategy.
