Pan American Energy (PAE) is a company committed to the responsible exploration and production of oil and gas. They have a team comprised of thousands of people from Argentina who, day-by-day, produce the energy that the country needs to grow: the energy of a team that produces energy.
PAE’s workplace health objective is to look at the health of each employee in a comprehensive manner, regardless of whether they have physical ailments. The Wellness area of the oil company began in 2011 with traditional medical check-ups for all members of the company, but over the years it has grown and diversified to add initiatives related to health, culture, recreation and sport as its four pillars of the workplace health program.
Unlike the concept of traditional wellness occupational health programmes, whose primary objective is to increase productivity, achieve greater employee commitment and reduce the rate of absenteeism, at Pan American Energy they think of wellness as a tool that favours the real well-being of its employees and that does not necessarily take into account the productive benefit of the company.
