Global Leaders Celebrate Workplace Health Innovations at the 12th Global Healthy Workplace Awards & Summit in Brasília
Brasília, 8 November 2024
The 12th Global Healthy Workplace Awards & Summit concluded yesterday at the CNI Headquarters in Brasília, Brazil, with industry leaders from around the world recognising outstanding achievements in workplace health, wellbeing and safety. Hosted in partnership with Serviço Social da Industria (SESI), the summit provided a vital platform for the exchange of ideas and innovations at a time when the intersection of climate change, mental health, and employee wellbeing has never been more critical.
During the two-day summit, finalists across both Large and Multinational Enterprise categories presented their ground-breaking programmes, which have enhanced the wellbeing of thousands of employees worldwide. Winners National University of Singapore (large enterprise) and Chevron and Tata Consultancy Services (multinational enterprise) of the prestigious 2024 Global Healthy Workplace Awards were announced, further cementing the importance of sustainable health practices in the workplace. It was a very close contest with DHL Group, Godrej Industries Group, and Petrobras being runners’ up.
“Through this summit, we have witnessed a remarkable demonstration of how businesses are rising to the challenge of creating healthier, more sustainable working environments,” said Wolf Kirsten, Co-Director of GCHW. “The winning organisations are leading examples of how strategic investments in health can lead to improved productivity and social progress.”
Tommy Hutchinson, Co-Director of GCHW, added: “What stands out this year is the innovation and resilience shown by these employers in the face of global challenges. Their commitment to employee wellbeing is not just a business strategy—it’s a fundamental value that is shaping the future of work.”
In addition to the awards, the summit featured thought-provoking keynotes on global mental health strategies, climate resilience in the workplace, and how employers can gain a competitive advantage through a strong culture of health. The session led by Halshka Graczyk of the International Labour Organization (ILO) on the role of healthy workplaces in addressing climate change was particularly well-received.
As the summit drew to a close, participants reflected on the global shift towards valuing health as a core business imperative. The event underscored the vital role that workplace health plays in creating a more equitable, sustainable future for all.
